Food scrap pickup in San Antonio
San Antonio is the heart of the October 1, 2026 launch region. San Antonio businesses and collectors can start matchmaking on day one.
San Antonio kitchens produce serious scrap volume, from taquerias prepping before sunrise to the restaurant rows around the Pearl and Southtown. Kitchen2Compost started here because this city already understands that food is worth respecting all the way to the end.
How it works in San Antonio
A business posts what it has: produce trim, coffee grounds, outdated fruit and vegetables, eggshells, the clean pre-consumer scraps every kitchen produces. Nearby collectors see the post, claim it, and pick it up during the window the business sets. The scraps become compost instead of landfill, and both sides get a receipt showing it happened.
Collectors are the gardeners, small farmers, worm growers, and community composters who can turn kitchen scraps into living soil. Claiming is free for collectors, always.
Where we expect early activity
Kitchens and composters around Southtown, the Pearl, Alamo Heights, Stone Oak, the Medical Center, and downtown are natural early matches, though posts can come from anywhere in the San Antonio area.
A local note
Hill Country heat dries piles fast, so steady loads of fresh greens from local kitchens are exactly what area composters ask for most.
Learn composting, starting today
Whether K2C is live in your city yet or not, the Learning center covers what to compost, how to fix a struggling pile, and when finished compost is ready. It is free, in plain language, and written for Texas conditions.
